Editorial Policy
This policy governs how Celestial Editorial writes, maintains, and corrects its content.
Editorial Independence
We receive no funding, sponsorship, or directional input from any space agency, commercial launch provider, or mission consortium. Our editorial focus — interstellar probe mission relevance — reflects the interests of the IPPW community and nothing more.
Fact-Checking
Every figure shown on a profile is pulled directly from its source field in the NASA Exoplanet Archive. We do not rewrite measurements, round aggressively, or editorialise ambiguous values. Where a derived metric (ESI, HZ position) depends on formulae, the formulae are documented on the Methodology page.
Corrections
If you spot an error — incorrect parameter, misattributed host star, a confirmation status that’s out of date — email [email protected] with the planet name and the issue. Verified corrections are applied within seven days, and the page’s “Last snapshot” timestamp is updated to reflect the change.
What We Do Not Do
- • We do not speculate about biosignatures or life detection claims beyond what the data supports.
- • We do not copy or paraphrase from Wikipedia or other secondary encyclopedias. All prose is original, written against the dataset.
- • We do not generate planets or profiles for unconfirmed candidates, TCE/TOI lists, or controversial (
pl_controv_flag = 1) entries.
